Metal Garage Ltd
Effective Date: 03.06.2025
Thank you for choosing Metal Garage Ltd. This policy outlines everything you need to know about how your metal building will be delivered and what to expect regarding installation. Please read the following carefully to ensure a smooth delivery experience.
1. Estimated Delivery Timeframe
We aim to deliver your order within 7 to 35 working days from confirmation. This is an estimated timeframe and not a guaranteed delivery window. Actual delivery dates may vary due to production capacity, scheduling, weather conditions, and logistical factors.
2. Force Majeure – Events Beyond Our Control
While we do our best to meet estimated delivery times, Metal Garage Ltd is not liable for delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control. These may include (but are not limited to):
- Severe weather
- Traffic disruptions
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Supply chain issues
- Industrial action or strikes
These circumstances are treated as Force Majeure Events, during which our delivery obligations may be suspended without liability.
3. Delivery Terms
- All deliveries are made on a kerbside-only basis.
- You must ensure there is a clear, accessible area at the front of your property for safe offloading.
- Steel buildings are typically delivered using large crane-equipped trucks. Sufficient space must be available for the vehicle to manoeuvre and unload.
- Our drivers are not insured or permitted to carry goods through your property or beyond the kerbside.
If you have any access restrictions (e.g. narrow roads, overhead obstructions, limited parking), please notify us before delivery is scheduled.
- Offloading Requirements
Many of our building components can weigh up to 50kg.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure someone is available at the time of delivery to assist with offloading, if needed.
If delivery cannot be completed due to no assistance, limited access, or absent authorization, the goods will be returned to our depot and additional delivery charges will apply.
5. Delivery Confirmation & Responsibility
- Delivery is considered complete once the goods are unloaded at the specified delivery address.
- If you cannot be present to receive the delivery, you may send written authorization via email allowing us to leave the goods unattended.
- Once delivered (signed for or dropped as authorized), the responsibility for the goods passes to you.
6. Inspecting Your Order
- Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt.
- If there are any missing or damaged parts, you must inform us within 48 hours, providing clear photos and a description of the issue.
- After this period, we will consider the order fulfilled and accepted.
7. Remote Areas & Site Conditions
If your location is particularly remote or difficult to access, delivery may take longer. We recommend contacting us before placing your order if:
- Your street is narrow or restricted
- There are low-hanging trees or cables
- There are weight or height restrictions for large vehicles
- You live in a location not easily accessible by HIAB or flatbed lorry
8. Ownership and Risk
Once the goods have been delivered to the specified address—whether signed for or dropped with permission—ownership and risk transfer to the customer. This includes safe storage, handling, and any further movement of the goods.
9. Installation Notice
Metal Garage Ltd does not currently offer installation services.
All of our buildings are sold on a supply-only basis and are intended for self-assembly or installation by a qualified third party.
Comprehensive instructions are provided with every structure to assist with safe and proper assembly. If you require installation, we recommend hiring a competent local contractor experienced with steel structures.
